Simply DHH: Fostering Inclusivity through Diverse Illustrations

Client Overview

Simply DHH, a platform providing valuable resources for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (D/HH) community, recognized the need for more inclusive visual representation. Marisol, the platform's creator, sought a set of illustrations that accurately reflected the diverse individuals within the D/HH community.

Creative Direction

To address this need, I designed a custom set of illustrations using Adobe Illustrator. My approach focused on:

  • Accurate Representation: The illustrations feature diverse characters across genders, ethnicities, and age groups, ensuring that all members of the D/HH community feel seen and represented.

  • Authentic Portrayal: I aimed to create illustrations that authentically depict the experiences and identities of D/HH individuals, promoting a sense of belonging and understanding.

  • Visually Engaging Designs: The illustrations are designed to be both visually appealing and informative, effectively communicating key messages and enhancing the overall user experience.
